Ajay Royan
Ajay Royan founded Mithril and is the firm’s managing general partner.
Ajay developed Mithril’s focus on investing for durable growth, leading the firm to become an early investor and partner of choice for technology pioneers such as Adimab, Adagio, AppDirect, Auris (Johnson & Johnson acq.), BlackSky, Fractyl, Glance, GreyOrange, Helion, Neocis, and Nuvia (Qualcomm acq.). Ajay and Mithril are long-term stewards of growth, helping these hidden champions build dominant franchises by working with founders on competitive and organizational strategy. Prior to founding Mithril, Ajay was a macro and growth equity investor at Clarium.
Ajay serves on the Science Advisory Board of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Board of Directors of Fulbright Canada. He was elected to the Presidents’ Circle of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, is a charter member of The C100, and was a participant in the Hoover Institution’s Working Group on Global Markets. Ajay frequently advocates for entrepreneurship and innovation, and has been featured in CNBC, the Financial Times, The Economist, and The Wall Street Journal. He was educated at Yale University.
